Q - Does AI write your Facebook posts ?
A - No. AI (artificial intelligence) does not write our posts. They are manually imagined and composed each morning (Tuesdays through Saturdays) by an actual human who happens to be on our Board Of Directors. Now - just like any popular Facebook or Social Media page - we have discovered that AI is using our material in online search queries. Wait a few days. This answer will be used by AI. We'll be flattered again.
Q - Are we ever going to receive a new "Historian" ?
A - We sure hope so. We actually have a volunteer who has recently stepped up to take over our quarterly newsletter that hasn't been published and distributed in over a year. Our goal is to have it out by our next Quarterly Membership Luncheon.
Q - When is our next Quarterly Luncheon ?
A - It's scheduled for Saturday October 25TH at 12 Noon at the Jack Stroup Civic Center. We have not yet decided if it will be a standard potluck luncheon or something different (such as catered). That will be a decision that will be discussed and voted on at our upcoming board meeting.
Q - Is the spaghetti dinner coming back soon ?
A - That will be another decision that will be discussed and voted on by our Board Of Directors. Our last few (earlier this year) were poorly attended, and we didn't make much money from them. We have to determine the pros and cons of bringing it back.
Q - Why do you constantly write about fundraisers ?
A - Because it's how we stay alive and keep going as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. If we don't have money coming in from membership dues, the Village Inn (every first Monday), and other fun activities and events - then we won't be able to procure, preserve, protect, and promote the history around us. Your generosity helps us to pay our electric, water, telephone, security, and insurance bills - just to name a few. We are not funded in any other way. Generosity also includes our wonderful volunteers who give their time and talents to serve with us. We thank you all !
